If you’ve started any antibiotics or any other medications that may make you photo sensitive, please let us know. We may have to reschedule your appointment. Also notify the technician if there has been any change in your health status (new medications, heart condition, etc.).
Please shave the areas to be treated 4-24 hours before hair removal treatment (unless instructed otherwise). (Charge applies if the technician has to shave prior to the treatment – depends on the area.
NO TANNING –sun exposure or a fresh tan can interfere with the effectiveness of the laser/light treatment and may cause burning, redness and/or blistering to the area of the skin being treated.
Always use a SPF-30 or greater sunscreen on all exposed areas and re-apply when necessary.
Discontinue use of exfoliating creams. Refrain from waxing, tweezing/plucking, sugaring, electrolysis, threading , bleaching or other epilating methods for at least four to six weeks before and treatment because hair follicles that do not have hair shafts in them to absorb laser light energy will not be killed by the laser energy.
Anti-viral prescription can be obtained from the doctor if there is a strong history of cold sore outbreak. (Areas with active herpes cannot be treated).
For maximum desired results, multiple treatments will be required at regular scheduled intervals.
If you are unsure about anything before your treatment please contact our office.

The following information is a guideline that will help ensure that your treatment is a success and that the chances of any unwanted side effects are minimized.
The area treated may become red and warm for a few hours after treatment. If this is uncomfortable, cool the area with a cold wet towel (or some other means of cooling). Do not use ice – may cause an “ice burn”.
Soothing preparations/gels can also be applied - Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel or Tea Tree Oil is recommended. These products generally include antiseptic properties as well as having the effect to cool the treated area.
Avoid any strenuous workout, hot tubs, hot showers, saunas, etc… for 24 hours after treatment.
Avoid taking anti-inflammatory, or blood thinning medications for at least 7 days if possible. Examples: Advil, Motrin (any ibuprofen), Aspirin, etc.
No smoking or alcohol for at least two hours before and after treatment.
If face veins are being treated, NO make-up that day! This will give the skin a chance to cool naturally. Make-up can be used the following day provided it doesn’t cause discomfort. Use non-oily products. It should be safe to exfoliate gently and apply moisturizers.
Use only cleansing products designed for sensitive skin for the first 48 hours. Use non perfumed products. Treat skin gently when drying or rubbing.
NO sun exposure (tanning beds, sunbathing, or self tanning lotions/creams) for at least 7 days after the treatment. A minimum SPF 30 sunscreen (UVA/UVB) should be used for any sun exposure to limit the risk of hyper pigmentation.
Should scabs appear as the treated area is healing, keep area clean and apply antibiotic ointment like Polysporin. If crusting should occur, you can avoid scars if you do not ‘pick’ at them.
Should scabs appear, use a loofah pad to enhance sloughing off of treated areas at least 7 days after treatment scars.
